Last Tuesday, Senator Dick Durban chaired a follow up hearing on the issue of solitary confinement, focusing on its human rights, fiscal, and public safety consequences. While we want to draw your attention to the hearing, we also want to start a conversation about how to prevent future hearings from being “typical Washington: A large room overflowing with activists and a virtually empty media table.”
